Reconditioned IBC totes: performs like new, without the new.
A reconditioned IBC tote is a used bottle professionally washed, pressure-tested, re-valved, and re-caged as needed. It's the value sweet spot for chemicals, manufacturing, and non-consumable work. Need a guaranteed-new interior? Step up to a rebottled unit. See the grades guide to choose.
Six stages from tired to trusted.
Triple-rinse
Empty, depressurize, and pre-rinse with warm water to loosen and flush residue — repeated until the water runs clear.
Hot-wash
A heated detergent wash with agitation and spray-ball coverage reaches every interior wall for a deeper clean than rinsing alone.
Pressure test
Every bottle is tested for leaks and structural integrity — a tank that can't hold pressure never earns a second life on the resale side.
Re-valve & re-cap
Worn butterfly or ball valves, gaskets, and top caps are swapped for sound components — reclaimed or new — so it seals like it should.
Re-cage
A compromised steel or composite frame is replaced with a reclaimed, structurally-sound cage and pallet — nothing gets scrapped that can be reused.
Rebottle (when needed)
If a bottle can't be cleaned to standard, we install a brand-new HDPE bottle into the reclaimed cage — see rebottled totes.

What "pass" means here.
- No residue, staining, swelling, or persistent odor in the bottle.
- Leak- and pressure-tested to hold its rated load.
- Functioning valve, cap, and food-safe or chemical-appropriate gasket.
- Structurally-sound cage and pallet, re-caged if not.
- Prior contents, wash level, and UN rating documented on every unit.
For chemicals, soaps & manufacturing
When your product is non-consumable — industrial chemicals, surfactants, water-treatment fluids, lubricants, agricultural inputs — a hot-washed reconditioned tote delivers the best value per dollar and per pound of CO₂ avoided.
For consumables & traceability
When you need a guaranteed-pristine, food-safe interior — food and beverage, potable water, sensitive formulations — a rebottled tote gives you a brand-new HDPE bottle in a reclaimed steel cage. Near-new performance, far lower footprint.
Reconditioned applications.
Manufacturing & chemicals
Bulk soaps, surfactants, coolants, and process fluids move economically in hot-washed industrial totes.
Agriculture & irrigation
Non-consumable inputs, liquid fertilizers, and irrigation water storage — a durable workhorse for the field.
Water & treatment
Rainwater harvesting, greywater, and water-treatment chemistry — reconditioned tanks keep it contained and dispensable.
Reconditioning is manufacturing-avoidance in action. By cleaning and restoring an existing bottle instead of molding a new one, you skip the virgin HDPE and the energy entirely — a bigger climate win than recycling, which still has to re-melt plastic. That's why reuse sits at the top of the waste hierarchy.
When a bottle can no longer be reconditioned, our recycling line granulates the HDPE and bales the steel cage — keeping roughly 99% of the unit in circulation. Explore the numbers on our sustainability page, or compare against as-is used totes.
