Field flexibility can't come at the cost of regulatory exposure — the two have to move together.
Regulated products such as methanol and certain additives require a tote with a valid, in-date UN31HA1/Y-type marking (a composite IBC certified for Packing Group II/III liquids), correct hazmat labeling, and shipping per DOT rules. During transfer of flammable fluids, bond and ground the tote to dissipate static. On the pad, place totes in secondary containment sized to at least 110% of the tote to satisfy SPCC-style requirements and protect soil and groundwater. The right valves, camlocks and closed fittings keep transfers drip-free and controlled.
