Frequently asked questions

Where to look, and what to read first.

Where should I start if I have never bought a used IBC tote?

Start with the IBC Tote Buying Guide. It walks through the four grades, the difference between 275 and 330 gallon tanks, what to inspect on arrival, and how used pricing compares with new. From there the size chart gives you exact dimensions and weights for freight planning.

How do I know whether an IBC tote is safe for my chemical?

Use the chemical compatibility chart. It rates HDPE against acids, bases, solvents, oxidizers, salts, fertilizers, surfactants and oils, and flags gasket, temperature and UV limits. If your product is not listed, email us the SDS and we will confirm before quoting.

What is the difference between the guides and the blog?

Guides are evergreen reference material — grades, cleaning, dimensions, reuse versus recycle — that we keep current as standards change. The Reclaim Journal blog covers timely field notes, logistics tips and sustainability deep dives. Both link back to the same underlying specs.

Do you publish real numbers on cost savings and landfill diversion?

Yes. The case studies section shows representative projects across fertilizer, brewing, chemical distribution and municipal water, with cost saved, drums eliminated, totes diverted and CO2 and HDPE avoided. Business customers can also request a diversion certificate.

Can I get help choosing if I still cannot decide?

Absolutely. Send your product, volume, temperature range and delivery ZIP through the quote form and we will recommend a grade and size, then quote by email within one business day. There is no charge for the recommendation.
